Dry needling is used to,primarily, treating trigger points. A myofacial trigger point is more commonly referred to as a "knot" because it tends to be firm when touched. If you are running your hand along a muscle and feel a focal area of tightness that is also sore or tender, this is most likely a trigger point. The therapist will insert a small needle into this area. Oftentimes, you will see the muscle twitch when the needle is inserted. Dogs and cats tend to tolerate this treatment very well. Most do not even seem to notice the needles. The goals of this dry needling are to increase blood flow to the area, relax the muscle and provide pain relief.

I was visiting the Santa Fe Arts District and my small pup needed a prescription refill. TCAW helped me very quickly. I’m impressed!
