In its' most basic form, this simply means treatment by the therapist using his/her hands to diagnose and treat ligament, tendon, joint, and muscle tissues. Forms of manual therapy may include joint mobilization, massage, neuromuscular therapy, and facilitated stretching. Manual therapy can be extremely effective in helping to decrease muscle spasm, increase flexibility, improve joint mobility, decrease inflammation, increase blood glow, and improve function, thereby helping to reduce pain.
